Barcelona turned down the chance to sign Bundesliga star

Barcelona turned down the chance to sign Bundesliga star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the last summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Aubameyang, a 28-year-old Gabonese international, has developed into of world football’s most in-demand stars over recent seasons.

Since joining Dortmund from Saint-Etienne in 2013, the lightning-quick attacker has notched an incredible 95 goals in 139 Bundesliga appearances, doing a phenomenal job of filling the shoes left by Robert Lewandowski.

Many European clubs wanted the Gabon international striker the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool, AC Milan, PSG and Manchester City but none could reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund.

The striker has ruled out a move to Premier League during an interview with Telefoot in September, Aubameyang was questioned on the possibility of a future move away from the Westfalenstadion, with the prolific striker quick to rule out a Premier League switch.

As a result, Real Madrid is still viewed as the clear favourites to sign Aubameyang, should he eventually move on from Dortmund.
